Kennels in Valencia means Barking Barxeta

Hi my name is Margaret and I am the proprietor of Barking Barxeta a boarding kennels in Valencia, which is situated in the pueblo of Barxeta in the heart of sunny Valencia. Allow me to tell you how my business venture came about. I have always had a natural love and devotion for our four legged friends, since the age of fourteen when I worked and a local kennels in, not so sunny, Lancashire. The experience I gained, from working with dogs, gave me a dream to one day open my own kennels. Now, having relocated to Spain in 2004, I decided that it was the right time to make my dream become a reality.

I opened Barking Barxeta, as a boarding kennels in December 2006, having worked relentlessly to refurbish a stone building, that existed within our villa's grounds, into a high quality boarding kennels. The work I undertook included laying tiles, making secure indoor dog kennels, erecting fencing, painting and even the making of curtains to match their bedding. We then installed a shower for our dog guests. Months of hard work but hopefully the end product has justified the innumerable cut hands, bruises and aches I suffered during the construction of my boarding kennels.

Everybody has dreams, but little did I know that the dream, I had as a fourteen year old working at a local boarding kennels as a kennel maid, would actually become a reality for me. It is a pleasure for me to say that I really love my job - and I sincerely mean that. I believe everyone has a vocation in life and I can honestly say that now I have found mine.

Although it has taken 35 years to fulfil my dream, of owning a kennels, during that time I have acquired a much deeper understanding of the true nature and psychology of dogs. I am therefore able to utilise this experience, and knowledge, when charged with caring for your beloved pet(s). One of my clients recently called me the "The dog whisperer of Valencia". I took this as a compliment and felt very satisfied and indeed felt honoured, that such a compliment had been bestowed upon me. It is compliments, such as that, that makes owning a boarding kennels so worth while.

From the moment that both you and your dog(s) drive through our villa gates, both myself and my husband will endeavour to ensure that an important "part of your family" fast becomes and "important part of our family", for the duration of his or her stay with us here in Barxeta - deep in the Valencian countryside. We will act in "local parentis" ensuring that the way you treat your dog, at home, mirrors, what he or she receives here in our boarding kennels. This will ensure as much consistency in their lives as possible. This, in turn, ensures that your dog(s) will settle in quickly, with the minimum of stress, when bringing them to our boarding kennels.
